Merry Christmas Snowman

Merry Christmas from Ruth Miller Creative! It’s been an amazing Christmas season for my family. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! This cute snowman was created digitally with Procreate.

Silent Night

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! The excitement has been contagious from my two boys and they can’t wait until Christmas tomorrow. I drew this piece digitally on my iPad and it was inspired by some Christmas decor that I bought this season. They are these cute little porcelain houses that light up. I wanted to recreate one of them in a Christmas scene with lights at night. I love how the final piece turned out!

Thankful Pumpkin

Hey everyone! Here is a piece that I created a while ago, but was waiting more for Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for everyone that supports my art! It was drawn using Adobe Fresco right after I downloaded it. So needless to say, it was an experiment to see all the Fresco had to offer. I still don’t have the program down pat, but I do love the different textures it has to offer. This print is available on product in my Society6 shop.

Mad Scientist Birthday Invite

Happy Veteran’s Day! I want to give a big shout out to everyone who has served or is currently serving our country…..especially my dad! Here is an invite that I was commissioned to make for my friends daughters mad science themed birthday party. It was really fun to make and I really love the theme. I’m glad to see more and more non traditional themed parties. This theme is perfect for boys and girls. I drew out the seperate art elements using Procreate and then put everything together in invitation form in Photoshop. This invite is available in my Etsy shop to customize for your next party. If you are looking for custom art or invitations, please shoot me a message!

I’ll Put a Spell Witch Hat

It’s Hocus Pocus season! I had to create something to go along with one of my favorite movies. I loved watching it when I was a little girl and still love watching it every year. I wanted to continue lettering, so I made sure to practice using my own handwriting for the phrase. I tried to keep the hat and the overall picture simple so the lettering would shine. I like how it turned out, but I will definitely keep working on my hand lettering. Enjoy!

Floral Pattern

Hey Everyone! Here is a quick floral pattern that I whipped up over the weekend. It started out as just a doodle and grew. I drew it out digitally and painted it with watercolors digitally. I tried to stick with fresh vibrant colors. I really love the vibe of the overall finished piece and I can’t wait to see it on products. Enjoy!

Girl in Leaves

Good morning everyone! It’s Labor Day weekend and I can’t wait to relax the next couple of days. Here is a sketch I posted on social media while I was working on it. I knew I wanted it to have a watercolor feel, but I wasn’t sure on the colors I was going to use. So I thought painting it digitally would be the best option. It allows me to mess up and change things unlike physically painting it. I decided to keep the colors very fall inspired, of course! I drew this because I got a little taste of fall this past week and now I’m ready for it to be here. Enjoy!

Little Cutie

Hey everyone! Lately I have been working on invitations to add to my Etsy shop. I have been having good luck with a few of my invites and want to add some more! I saw this theme floating around on Pinterest for a baby shower and thought it was adorable. I wanted to make a cute and playful version of this theme. I drew out the the little oranges and all the other elements in my sketch book. I then used one of my programs to digitally watercolor them in. I knew I wanted to keep it pretty simple and let the oranges shine, but I knew I needed something to in the background. I decided to do a simple gingham print to keep it basic but lend a farmhouse feel. I love how it turned out and it’s probably one of my favorite invites I have made to date! If you would like to purchase a digital file of this invite, here is the link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/716723752/a-little-cutie-is-on-the-way-baby-shower?ref=listings_manager_grid

Donuts!

These sweet donuts are some art elements for an invitation that I’m working on. Of course you have figured out by now that the theme is …. Donuts! It never fails when I’m creating art that includes food, it makes me so hungry. Especially this one, I love donuts! The sweeter the better! I created them in my art program Procreate and decided to use a brush that mimicked watercolor edges. I wanted them to be some what translucent and pick up some of the background color that it is put on. I can’t wait to finish the invite and see the end result.

Briarwood Bear Spirit Wear

So the day has finally come…It’s back to school! It’s the first day of school for my oldest son today. I can’t get too excited yet, since my youngest son doesn’t start Preschool until after Labor Day. But it is super nice just only having one kid at home! Last year, I created a t-shirt design for my sons elementary school. The bear was such a hit, that they asked me to create another design with the bear for this year. Here is the design that they are going to put on spirit wear t-shirts this year. I also got a sneak peek at back to school night and they look amazing. Can’t wait see all the kids at school wearing my design!
