Tinsel in a Tangle

Hello everyone! 2 days until Christmas! I saw this phrase last year on something and loved it! It’s the perfect saying for this time of year. I knew that I wanted to put my own spin on it and practice doing lettering. I used Procreate and it’s brushes to make the lettering, wreath and the rustic wood planks in the background. I wanted to keep it simple and to the point. Love the overall look!

Mountain Scene Snowflake

During the Christmas chaos this past week, I tried to take time to decompress and draw a little bit. Here is a fun snow flake that I created during my downtime. It’s made up of primarily cool colors and show cases a mountain scene with a deer. It was really fun to make in Procreate. I used the guided drawing tool which lets you just draw in one grid and it puts the same drawing in all four grids. Definitely made it way easier to make a snowflake using that feature. Make sure to take some time to decompress amongst all the crazy this holiday season! 4 days until Christmas!

Merry & Bright

It’s almost here! Christmas is 6 days away! My whole family is gearing up for the holidays and my boys are super excited. Between the moments of chaos I have been trying to sneak in some drawing time to decompress. This is one of my drawing moments this past week. I keep trying to improve my lettering. Practice makes perfect….right? I created this using Procreate. I love everything about this, especially the red buffalo plaid print in the background. It’s my favorite obsession right now. I have pillows and blankets of it all around my living room. Enjoy!

Winter Woodland Scene

I can’t believe Christmas is only 12 days away! I feel like it was just Thanksgiving. It’s funny how time does that! We have had a busy week at my house. In between appointments and errands, I managed to squeeze in some downtime to draw. This winter woodland scene was just the break I needed. I really love how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it too!

Hello Winter

Hi everyone! So Thanksgiving is over with and now it’s starting to feel like Christmas. Which also means the weather is going to get crazy and cold. The one thing I do enjoy about the cold weather is getting to wear hats and scarves. I love the feeling of being cozy! I began this sketch before Thanksgiving, but wasn’t able to finish it until this week due to the holiday craziness and everyone being sick in my house. So here is the finished piece. I used watercolor to color everything in and outlined it with a micron pen. I love using microns with watercolor because they do not bleed when touched with water. This piece is available in my Society6 and Redbubble shops!

Thankful Pumpkin

Hey everyone! Here is a piece that I created a while ago, but was waiting more for Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for everyone that supports my art! It was drawn using Adobe Fresco right after I downloaded it. So needless to say, it was an experiment to see all the Fresco had to offer. I still don’t have the program down pat, but I do love the different textures it has to offer. This print is available on product in my Society6 shop.

Mad Scientist Birthday Invite

Happy Veteran’s Day! I want to give a big shout out to everyone who has served or is currently serving our country…..especially my dad! Here is an invite that I was commissioned to make for my friends daughters mad science themed birthday party. It was really fun to make and I really love the theme. I’m glad to see more and more non traditional themed parties. This theme is perfect for boys and girls. I drew out the seperate art elements using Procreate and then put everything together in invitation form in Photoshop. This invite is available in my Etsy shop to customize for your next party. If you are looking for custom art or invitations, please shoot me a message!

Trick or Treat

And now for my second post of the day! Here is a quick doodle that I made using Procreate. It’s all things Halloween! My two sons are obsessed with Halloween and the main reason is trick or treating. So this drawing is dedicated to them and their love of all things candy related. They would eat candy for every meal if I would let them. I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

Black Cat and Pumpkin

Today is a two for one kind of day! We have been busy with birthdays, Halloween parties and fighting off colds. So I’m a little behind on my posts! Here is a cute little black cat and jack-o-lantern that I created in Adobe Fresco. I have been playing around with this new program and really like the textures and brushes it has to offer. I really like how this turned out. It definitely has a different feel to it than most of my drawings. Enjoy!

I’ll Put a Spell Witch Hat

It’s Hocus Pocus season! I had to create something to go along with one of my favorite movies. I loved watching it when I was a little girl and still love watching it every year. I wanted to continue lettering, so I made sure to practice using my own handwriting for the phrase. I tried to keep the hat and the overall picture simple so the lettering would shine. I like how it turned out, but I will definitely keep working on my hand lettering. Enjoy!
