Navy Leaf Kaleidoscope

Hey all! Fall is in full swing here in KC. We spent a good portion of our weekend enjoying how nice it is and raking up all of the leaves. The temps have been abnormally high in the 70’s but that is not stopping all the trees from dumping their leaves on our lawn. The boys had a lot of fun raking the leaves into piles and jumping in them. Izzy our dog even had fun with the leaf piles. This is a really cool leaf kaleidoscope pattern that I created recently. What started out as a random doodle turned into a really cool pattern. I am really enjoying this color combination and how it screams fall. I just put this up in my Society6 and Redbubble shops on prints and products. Enjoy!

Halloween Pumpkin Bouquet

Hey everyone! I can’t believe Halloween is approaching so quickly. It feels like the October just started. To get into the spirit, I sketched out this cute drawing one morning. I decided to use watercolor to paint it in, since that is my favorite painting medium. I really like the depth of colors it gives yet always gives a unique feel to every painting. Let the countdown begin! 3 weeks until Halloween!

Happy Pumpkin Spice Season

Hey everyone! What is the first thing you think of when fall arrives? Pumpkin spice everything, of course! That is one of the things that I look forward during Fall. I’m not a huge coffee drinker but I do love pumpkin flavored desserts. Every Thanksgiving, I make a pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting. I look forward to it every year! Even my brother, the pastry chef, requests me to make it. So I thought I would celebrate this wonderful flavor season with a drawing. I wanted to keep it pretty simple and classic. I think this would look great as wall art and home decor. I will definitely have to add it to my shops!

Fall Pumpkin and Flowers

Hey everyone! The fall weather is in full force this week in Kansas City. And I’m loving it! Here is a drawing that I worked on this past week using Procreate. I discovered a couple of new watercolor brushes and decided to play around with them. To be honest, I haven’t really liked any of the watercolor brushes on the program. I just don’t like the effect that make and doesn’t appear realistic. These new brushes are definitely closer to the effect that I’m wanting to achieve. I was really pleased with the overall look! I will definitely incorporate them into my future drawings. Enjoy!

Hello Autumn

Guess what everyone…..It’s officially Fall! No more wishing it was finally here. I’m ready to eat and drink everything apple and pumpkin related. Plus, I’m anxiously awaiting some cooler temps so I can wear my boots and sweaters. This weekend it will be in the 80’s in KC. Hopefully after this weekend we can finally get rid of these summer temps and just enjoy some cool, crisp weather. I think my new pup Izzy is looking forward to the cooler temps also. She is always hot and likes to lay on our air conditioner vents. So we are looking forward to some fall walks. Here is a piece that I drew digitally in my Procreate app. I wanted to make a silhouette of a leaf to house the phrase “Hello Autumn”. Plus, I included some doodles of fall related items to fill in the voids. I love the end result! Enjoy!

Ready For Fall

Hey everyone! The weather is finally cooling off in Kansas City and it feels amazing. It is so much more enjoyable to be outside. And since we got Izzy, we have been outside a lot more. Fall is my favorite season and I look forward to it every year. I can’t wait to wear sweaters with boots, pick out pumpkins, drink warm apple cider and light fall scented candles. I’m not exaggerating, it truly is my favorite.  I drew this digitally the minute there was just a slight crisp in the air. The font is my own handwriting and I love how it turned out. I’m so ready for fall….is anyone else?

Wild & Free

Hey everyone! So it’s been a pretty heartbreaking week for our family. We recently lost our beloved pup Moe. It’s been really hard on our family since it happened so unexpectedly. We really loved him and he was a big part of our family. It probably hit me the hardest. He was my big fluffy fur baby. We will forever miss him! I drew this drawing the day he passed away without know what would happen after I had sketched it out. But after he passed, the phrase seemed so fitting for the situation. He is now free from pain and he will always have his wild spunk where ever he is. I decided to just paint some pretty watercolor flowers making a circular frame around the phrase. It really turned out pretty and was very therapeutic for me to paint this past week. Enjoy!

Green Field of Flowers

Hey everyone! It was a busy but fun weekend for my family. We have been painting trim in our house trying to eliminate all traces of the eighties from my house…lol! It’s been a project! Slowly bur surely we are getting it tackled. We also had a small birthday party for my niece at our house. She is turning 11 and starting middle school this year, so we wanted to make sure she had a fun celebration with swimming, pizza, cake and ice cream. It was a good change of pace with everything that is going on. It felt great celebrating something! This drawing was created this past week between projects. I think I have flowers on the brain. I have definitely been drawing inspiration from them on my past couple of pieces. I drew these whimsical flowers digitally using Procreate. I also used green as the primary color because it’s my all time favorite color. It soothes my soul! I hope you all enjoy this little bit of whimsy!

Pink and Green Palm Leaves

Happy Monday everyone! It’s pretty dreary here in KC this morning because of storms. So I’m just going to day dream over here that I’m somewhere tropical all day long. I drew this quick leaf pattern while I had some down time between some freelance and house projects that I’m working on. I have always loved the combination of pink and green together and wanted to use that in a drawing. I got my inspiration from the colors of some amazing tropical plants and just wanted to create sort of a pattern using their leaves. It definitely boosts my view whenever I see them. I just added this to my Society6 and Redbubble shops on prints and products, if you would love to have it for yourself. Enjoy!

Summer Oranges

Hey everyone! This is the last piece I have made so far for my summer fruit series. I’m hoping to maybe make a couple of more, but we will see how the rest of the month goes. Today we are featuring the orange! I’m not going to lie…..I love orange flavoring but I do not like eating oranges. I just never have gotten on board with their texture. I know i’m weird, but I gladly own my weirdness…lol! I will say this, I do love their color and how vibrant they are. Oranges and lemons are the perfect citrus for summertime. I drew this series of fruits using Procreate. They turned out great as stand alone images and as a print of many products in my Society6 and Redbubble shops. If you love oranges and would like to add some zest to your life, check out my Society6 and Redbubble shops for it on prints and products. Enjoy!
