Silent Night

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! The excitement has been contagious from my two boys and they can’t wait until Christmas tomorrow. I drew this piece digitally on my iPad and it was inspired by some Christmas decor that I bought this season. They are these cute little porcelain houses that light up. I wanted to recreate one of them in a Christmas scene with lights at night. I love how the final piece turned out!

Mountain Scene Snowflake

During the Christmas chaos this past week, I tried to take time to decompress and draw a little bit. Here is a fun snow flake that I created during my downtime. It’s made up of primarily cool colors and show cases a mountain scene with a deer. It was really fun to make in Procreate. I used the guided drawing tool which lets you just draw in one grid and it puts the same drawing in all four grids. Definitely made it way easier to make a snowflake using that feature. Make sure to take some time to decompress amongst all the crazy this holiday season! 4 days until Christmas!

Christmas Trees

Happy December 1st! It’s finally December and it’s starting to feel like Christmas. We just got a snow blizzard last weekend here in Kansas City, so the snow has definitely helped with getting everyone in the spirit. These modern Christmas trees are a piece I created for one of my Christmas cards one year. They were created digitally using Photoshop. I transformed them into a print as well to put on some products in my shops this year. I have recently put up some Christmas designs into my Etsy, Society6 and Redbubble shops. Definitely check them out!

Greatest Adventure

Hello everybody! Here is a new sketch that I did recently. This sketch was drawn out and created digitally using Procreate. Our family likes to be outdoors! We especially like to go hiking and camping. We haven’t been able to go recently because it has been so hectic, but hopefully we can try to go soon. Our favorite spot to go to is The Porcupine Mountains in Michigan. It is absolutely beautiful! My husband has been going there with his grandparents since he was little. So it was pretty cool to take our son camping when he was old enough a couple years ago to see Dad’s old stomping grounds. Hopefully soon, we will be able to take both our boys! Until then, enjoy this mountain piece.

Joy

Around this time of the year, I have always found it hard to really live in the moment of the holiday season. Before having my youngest son, I had worked in retail for 15 years. I loved where I worked, but every holiday season was very overwhelming. If you have ever dabbled in working in the field, it tends to drain the life out of you and you just go through the motions of each day so you get home to your life away from the fake holiday spirit. I have currently been out of retail for 3 years and I have found that I enjoy the holiday season much more when I don’t have to get involved with the craziness. I have now found a new joy in creating artwork for myself and for others to enjoy. I can now breathe and soak in all the magical moments of the season.
