Briarwood Fine Arts Night

Hey everyone! It has been a crazy couple of months for me lately. From having surgery to the boys spring sports starting up, it feels very hectic already this spring. I was asked by the PTA of my kids school to create a cute flyer for their Fine Arts Night. It’s a fun night to display all the kids artwork, look at the book fair, listen to choir, band & stings concerts. It was really fun to create and I tried to make sure each element of the evening was included in the illustration. The mascot for the school is a bear, so I made sure he was front and center. I hope you all enjoy it as much I as I did creating it!

Portrait of E.B.

Hey everyone! 2 days until Easter! Here is a cute portrait of the Easter Bunny that I created this week. I drew it in Procreate while I had some downtime. I wanted to create a little portrait in a gold frame of Ms. Easter Bunny with some moody wall paper in the background. This piece is definitely a little moody with whole ton of cuteness. I hope everyone has a great Easter! Enjoy!

Spring Easter Chick

Hey everyone! It’s crazy to think that Easter is less than a week away. The weather is beautiful and all the flowers are blooming. It’s shaping up to be a great Easter Sunday. I’m looking forward to a yummy Easter feast, delicious candy and hiding Easter eggs. What’s your favorite part of Easter? Here is a doodle that I drew this past week of this cute chick. I created this fun Spring Easter art in Procreate. Enjoy!

Pastel Easter Eggs

Hi everyone! Spring is finally here. It’s great hearing the birds singing, flowers blooming and the weather warming up. I love it! It’s definitely boosting my mood. We just finished up spring break here in KC. I started looking ahead on the calendar and couldn’t believe that Easter is only 2 weeks away. I feel like it has snuck up on me. Does anyone else feel that way? Here is a quick digital drawing that I did to get into the Easter spirit. My youngest son loves hiding Easter eggs, so I thought I would do a drawing of those. I quite like how they turned out. These colorful eggs are now in my Society6 and Redbubble shops. Enjoy!

Find Joy in the Ordinary

Hey everyone! It is finally starting to warm up around here. Yay for Spring! I love seeing the flowers starting to emerge from the ground, hearing the birds chirp and being able to open the windows. It’s the little things that make me happy and I am finding joy in them. I love Spring because it just feels like a new start every year. This year especially feels different because of Covid. It feels like there is some hope and a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope the year keeps looking up! This piece was drawn in Procreate and I knew that I wanted to incorporate colorful flowers. I wanted it to scream Spring and it does just that. Enjoy!

Choose Happy

Hey everyone! I feel like this week I finally had a wave of creativity and have had many ideas just flowing out of my brain. It’s been really nice since it feels like I have hit a creative block during this quarantine. I have been having to force myself to sit and draw. So I will definitely embrace this spurt of creativity. Here is one of the doodles that I did last night on my iPad using the Procreate app. It’s nothing too fancy, but I like how it turned out. This message does really come at a good time! We should all try to choose happiness during these uncertain times. I am really trying to practice this daily. What kind of things are you trying to do to keep happy? I have been trying to keep creative, baking my favorite treats, enjoying my garden and making simple home improvements. I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe! Enjoy!

Happy Mother’s Day 2020

Happy Mother’s Day from Ruth Miller Creative! I hope all the mother’s out there have a fabulous day and are spoiled rotten. I especially want to wish my mom Kristy and mother in law Stacey a very Happy Mother’s Day. We appreciate everything you both do for our family! I created this drawing this past week while my two boys were working on school work. I wanted to keep it bright and cheery to mimic Spring. Luckily the weather will be cooperating with us in KC. The temperature is cool, the flowers are blooming and it just feels great to be outside. We have gotten so much landscaping done in the past two weeks and our yard looks great. I love being outside and doing yard work. Make sure to enjoy outside and celebrate all the mom’s in your life! Enjoy!

Watercolor Poppies

Hey everyone! Here is a watercolor painting that I worked on this past weekend. It is a painting of some Poppies. I have always liked Poppies for their name and how vibrant they are. They are just little bursts of color that pop up! I posted a work in progress photo on my Facebook and Instagram and here is the finished painting. It really turned out better than I had imagined. If you would like to follow my work on Facebook or Instagram, just click the buttons above on my menu and it will bring you to like or follow my pages. On those pages I usually post work in progress shots, inspiration and revisit some of my older pieces. I hope to see you there!

Face Masks

Hey everyone! Redbubble just launched face masks to their site. Which means you can now have wearable art of mine for your face. The masks have two layers of washable 100% brushed woven polyester. The print is on the outer layer. They have over-ear elastic straps for a snug fit over mouth and nose. Masks come in one size and fit most adults. They are $12.50 or $10 if you buy 4 or more.

For every mask sold, Redbubble will be donating a mask to Heart to Heart International. Heart to Heart International works with volunteers, partners, and donors to make healthcare more accessible. They have launched international, domestic, and local responses to COVID-19.

If you or someone you know is looking for some please visit my Redbubble shop!

Tulip Blossoms

Happy Monday everyone! Today marks the 7th week of quarantine for our family. This past weekend has been pretty good for us. We were able to get some projects around the house done, yard work and haircuts for my boys and the dog. It feels like we got a lot accomplished. I also was able to get some watercolor paintings done. I’m not going to lie…it felt great to just sit and paint and tune out everything even if it was just a couple of hours. It definitely boosted my mood for the week. It’s amazing how just doing something you love and enjoy can do that. This painting was just for fun and hopefully I will be able to get it up on my shops soon. Enjoy!
