Boo-zy!

Monday….I wish it wasn’t Monday! I think I just need one more day of the weekend. I’m sure everyone is feeling the same way. Here is something that will hopefully put a smile on your face. What is it, you ask…It’s a ghost having a cocktail! Tell me this didn’t make you smile just a bit. I created this little ghost guy digitally using Procreate. They have this really cool brush that creates the splatter I used in the background to make it look like spray paint. It definitely helped add the texture this ghost desperately needed. Plus, didn’t you hear the 90’s are back! So it fits in perfectly…lol! This guy will be up in my Society6 and Redbubble shops later today on product. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Spice Junkie

It’s finally October and you know what that means….it’s officially pumpkin spice season! It’s my favorite season and I love everything pumpkin spice. I saw a sign with this phrase and thought I have to make an illustration of this. It will accurately depict me for the next couple of months. I used Procreate to draw and create this piece. I also am getting a little better with my hand lettering. I love practicing lettering digitally, since I can erase my mistakes. This print is now available in my Society6 and Redbubble shops on product. Enjoy!

Hello Pumpkin

It’s finally starting to feel a little bit like Fall around here in Kansas City. Which makes me very excited! I’m ready for cooler days, so I can wear sweaters, scarves and boots. I’m tired of getting all sweaty! To get in the fall spirit, I have been drawing fall related stuff lately. Be ready for a flood of fall drawings! Here is one of the pieces I drew in my sketchbook recently. I wanted to keep practicing my hand lettering. I drew it out with pen and colored it in with Prismacolor markers. I just added this piece in my Society6 and Redbubble shops on products. Just use the tab at the top of my page to direct you to those shops. Enjoy!

Squirrel Catching Acorns

It’s a crazy weather weekend here in Kansas City! We had crazy winds and rain during Saturday during both of my son’s baseball games. We woke up to a very dreary dark day with lots of rain. So needless to say, my Sunday is going to be pretty lazy. This weather makes me sleepy! Here is a drawing that I drew in my sketchbook this past week. I drew it out and outlined it in pen. I used watercolor to bring color to this cute squirrel and his acorns. I really like the personality the watercolor brought to this little sketch in my notebook. I’m hoping this sketch will help bring Fall soon. Enjoy!

Little Lion

It’s the weekend! It’s been a long week. Everything including school, preschool, baseball, scouts and meetings has made for a busy week. Needless to say I’m exhausted! Here is a sketch that I worked on during the week to decompress. I got some new Micron pens and forgot how much I love them. They work great with markers and my watercolors. I decided to color this sweet little guy with my Prismacolor markers, which gave the bold color I was looking for. Really love how he turned out!

Floral Pattern

Hey Everyone! Here is a quick floral pattern that I whipped up over the weekend. It started out as just a doodle and grew. I drew it out digitally and painted it with watercolors digitally. I tried to stick with fresh vibrant colors. I really love the vibe of the overall finished piece and I can’t wait to see it on products. Enjoy!

Girl in Leaves

Good morning everyone! It’s Labor Day weekend and I can’t wait to relax the next couple of days. Here is a sketch I posted on social media while I was working on it. I knew I wanted it to have a watercolor feel, but I wasn’t sure on the colors I was going to use. So I thought painting it digitally would be the best option. It allows me to mess up and change things unlike physically painting it. I decided to keep the colors very fall inspired, of course! I drew this because I got a little taste of fall this past week and now I’m ready for it to be here. Enjoy!

Little Cutie

Hey everyone! Lately I have been working on invitations to add to my Etsy shop. I have been having good luck with a few of my invites and want to add some more! I saw this theme floating around on Pinterest for a baby shower and thought it was adorable. I wanted to make a cute and playful version of this theme. I drew out the the little oranges and all the other elements in my sketch book. I then used one of my programs to digitally watercolor them in. I knew I wanted to keep it pretty simple and let the oranges shine, but I knew I needed something to in the background. I decided to do a simple gingham print to keep it basic but lend a farmhouse feel. I love how it turned out and it’s probably one of my favorite invites I have made to date! If you would like to purchase a digital file of this invite, here is the link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/716723752/a-little-cutie-is-on-the-way-baby-shower?ref=listings_manager_grid

Donuts!

These sweet donuts are some art elements for an invitation that I’m working on. Of course you have figured out by now that the theme is …. Donuts! It never fails when I’m creating art that includes food, it makes me so hungry. Especially this one, I love donuts! The sweeter the better! I created them in my art program Procreate and decided to use a brush that mimicked watercolor edges. I wanted them to be some what translucent and pick up some of the background color that it is put on. I can’t wait to finish the invite and see the end result.

Briarwood Bear Spirit Wear

So the day has finally come…It’s back to school! It’s the first day of school for my oldest son today. I can’t get too excited yet, since my youngest son doesn’t start Preschool until after Labor Day. But it is super nice just only having one kid at home! Last year, I created a t-shirt design for my sons elementary school. The bear was such a hit, that they asked me to create another design with the bear for this year. Here is the design that they are going to put on spirit wear t-shirts this year. I also got a sneak peek at back to school night and they look amazing. Can’t wait see all the kids at school wearing my design!
