Hello Valentine

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted new stuff in a while. I have kinda been in a creative rut and life has just been a little busy. I was able to have a little down time recently and created this cute Valentine art. I created it digitally using Procreate and I love how it turned out. Hopefully, this will be the start out of my creative rut and the ideas will start flowing out of me. I hope everyone has a great week!

Valentine’s Day Heart Ornaments

Hey everyone! This month of January feels like it is dragging it’s feet. Why does this month always feel like this? I had such a great response from my Christmas ornaments, I thought that I would put out a couple of sets of Valentine’s Day ornaments. They would be great to put on a tree (if it’s still up), hang up with decor or even put on a gift. They are sold in sets of 3 in my Etsy shop. The first set is white, pink and red. They have the sayings “Be Mine”, “XO” and “Love”. The second set is white, red and rose gold. They have a heart motif, “You & Me” and “Always” on them. If you are interested in adding these to your special day, check out my Etsy shop!

Kate Wedding Portrait

Hey everyone! I recently was commissioned to make a wedding portrait for a Valentine present. The portrait is based off of a wedding photo of her and husband. She really wanted her dogs included in the illustration so I added 2 photos of her pups to the composition.  It turned out pretty great!  If you would like a digital portrait illustration, they will be available to order in my Etsy shop. They would make a great personalized gift for yourself, friends and family! Here are some details:

1. Portraits are $30 for 1-2 people and increase $10 for each additional person. If you would like a pet included, please count the pet as an additional “person”.

2. Portraits are illustrated based on the photos you supply me. They will be drawn in the position and outfits shown in the picture. The higher quality the photo, the more details that can be included. Background will be white unless another color is requested. Please send me a message if you have more than one photo.

3. All portraits are digital files. No physical product will be sent to you. All files are formatted so you can print and enlarge the file. You will be able to print as many copies as you’d like!

4. Your order will be emailed to you within 7-14 business days of your order.

Valentine’s Day Dog

Hey everyone! Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. How can it be almost February? I was asked to make some cards for Valentine’s Day cards recently for some adorable little girls to give out to relatives and neighbors. The only request is they wanted a cute dog on it. Since I love dogs, this was right up my wheel house. I had so much fun sketching and creating this adorable Valentine’s Day pup for them. I hope their recipients love him too! I drew and colored him in using Procreate. Even though I created him for a client, I have added him to my Society6 and Redbubble shops. He is available on prints, masks, phone cases and home decor.

Green Field of Flowers

Hey everyone! It was a busy but fun weekend for my family. We have been painting trim in our house trying to eliminate all traces of the eighties from my house…lol! It’s been a project! Slowly bur surely we are getting it tackled. We also had a small birthday party for my niece at our house. She is turning 11 and starting middle school this year, so we wanted to make sure she had a fun celebration with swimming, pizza, cake and ice cream. It was a good change of pace with everything that is going on. It felt great celebrating something! This drawing was created this past week between projects. I think I have flowers on the brain. I have definitely been drawing inspiration from them on my past couple of pieces. I drew these whimsical flowers digitally using Procreate. I also used green as the primary color because it’s my all time favorite color. It soothes my soul! I hope you all enjoy this little bit of whimsy!

Happy Mother’s Day 2020

Happy Mother’s Day from Ruth Miller Creative! I hope all the mother’s out there have a fabulous day and are spoiled rotten. I especially want to wish my mom Kristy and mother in law Stacey a very Happy Mother’s Day. We appreciate everything you both do for our family! I created this drawing this past week while my two boys were working on school work. I wanted to keep it bright and cheery to mimic Spring. Luckily the weather will be cooperating with us in KC. The temperature is cool, the flowers are blooming and it just feels great to be outside. We have gotten so much landscaping done in the past two weeks and our yard looks great. I love being outside and doing yard work. Make sure to enjoy outside and celebrate all the mom’s in your life! Enjoy!

We Were Together

Today is the 11th wedding anniversary with my husband, Bryant. It has been a really great 11 years! I was looking through our wedding photos last night and began to get sentimental. It was great to see all the moments, familiar faces and to see the people we have lost in the last 11 years. Last year we went on a cruise to celebrate our 10th anniversary and I’m so glad we did. This year will definitely be a different kind of celebration but none the less memorable. Cheers to another year Bryant!

And I’d choose you;
In a hundred lifetimes,
In a hundred worlds,
In any version of reality,
I’d find you and
I’d choose you.

Create Beauty Everyday

Here’s a quick drawing that I did this past week while trying to decompress. Drawing definitely helps me relax and take my mind off of things. I find it’s even more important during the times that we are in. Any time I draw something, I try to create something that makes me happy and my version of beautiful. What kinds of beauty are you creating that makes you happy? I drew this digitally on my iPad in the program Procreate. I keep finding more and more things to learn about the program. I’m just soaking it all in! I hope this piece of artwork brings a smile to your face and sparks you to create new things!

Rainbow

Hey everyone! This week has been a whirlwind, hasn’t it? We went from just being on Spring Break to no school for the rest of the year within just a matter of days. I totally understand their reasoning, but it’s just very sad that my kids can’t finish the rest of the year in school. All the projects and lessons they were learning, seeing their friends and playing sports are just on a permanent delay. I really just don’t like all the uncertainty this situation is bringing. I’ve been trying to utilize my time and I have been able to get some drawing time in everyday. Here is a quick drawing that I did yesterday. I feel like everyone, including myself, needed to see an uplifting image. So here is a rainbow for you to see and hopefully make your spirits brighter even if it’s just for a moment. Enjoy!

Plant Lover

Hey everyone! It’s been a crazy weekend at our house celebrating my littlest’s birthday. But now it’s Monday and I’m hoping this week will go back to our normal schedule. Preferably with no snow days….ha! I drew this little doodle on my iPad this past week. My dad is a gardener and has an amazing green thumb. He taught me everything I know about plants and flowers. When the weather is warm, we always walk around his yard/garden and he likes to show me all the new blooms coming up. It’s our thing that we like to do together. I definitely get me love of plants and flowers from him. So this quick little sketch is dedicated to my Dad. Enjoy!
